5.When you generate a work order from a PM, the Owner or Owner Group listed on a Job
Plan takes precedence over the Owner or Owner Group listed on a PM record.

For this question Mr. Umar your answer is Incorrect kindly test and verify:P.

2.Frequency criteria of a PM can be based on:
    ◦A – Time or Meter
◦B – Time, Meter or Season
    ◦C – Running Hours, Time
◦D – All of the above

For this Question I need explanations Please.

    1. Regarding Q5, it makes sense that information on PM should be given precedence because the rule is that the more specific the record is, higher is its precedence. From work order point of view, PM is a more specific record than Job Plan.

In order words, from Job Plan we build PM and from PM we build work order. So PM should have precedence over Job Plan.

But I was also surprised to find this in IBM Red Book that Job Plan is given precedence. Probably it is a mistake in the book as ,I believe, you have confirmed by trying out in Maximo.

Thanks for the valuable input 🙂

    2. Regarding Q2, If you go to PM application, there are two frequency criteria available i.e. Time based and Meter based.

Season is not a criteria. It specifies the days or periods when asset maintenance tasks should not be scheduled. For example, system could be configured to avoid generation of PM work orders on weekends and public holidays.

Running Hour is also not a frequency criteria. Usually running hour is defined as a meter in Maximo and meter based frequency is used to generate PM work order based on running hours information.

  3. ……if you can specifiy the criteria that do not generate work order on sunday or monday or eid day… that means it is sort of criteria.. secondly bosss Meter based is only RUNNING HRS readings no other readings:P???

    1. You can say Season is criteria but not a frequency criteria, it doesn’t tell anything about the frequency.

“Meter is based only RUNNING HRS” – this could be true about a specific implementation. But in standard Maximo there is no term called Running Hours and Running Hours is just a very commonly used name for meter even the spelling of which differs in each implementation.
