For rotating assets, classification cannot be edited from the assets application as the classification field becomes read-only. Instead, classification of a rotating asset could be set from associated rotating item screen. This ensures that all rotating assets with a particular rotating item number have the same classification.
When classification of a rotating item is changed, following updates are automatically done on associated rotating assets:
- The new classification is updated on associated rotating assets.
- All attributes and their values in the specification tab are cleared and new attribute list is loaded based on the new classification.
Note that the classification field becomes read-only for rotating assets but the attribute list on the specification tab is still editable. Attribute values can be changed, new attributes can defined and existing ones can be deleted.
